Knights return for spring season

The Gloucester Youth Football and Cheer League Knights opened its spring season over the weekend.

The 14U Knights defeated Grafton Tabb, 12-6. Tyrell Daisy scored two touchdowns and recorded 77 yards. Gary Pierce had 24 receiving yards and Durrall Daisy had 23 rushing yards. The defense was led by Jacob Lewis, Xavier Broughman, Alijah Pluim, Brayden Biondo, Caiden Baumgartner, Durrall Daisy and Camden Pluim. Together, they recorded four forced fumbles and four sacks.

The 12U Knights achieved a shutout win of 16-0 over York Seaford. Rylee Hogge and Anthony Hodges both scored touchdowns and extra points for the Knights. On defense, Jay Stokes and Rosie Thomas both recorded multiple tackles for loss. Rylee Hogge, Leo Collier, Isaac White, Noah Sterling and Evan Horacek all recorded multiple tackles during the match.

The 10U Knights fell to York Seaford, 40-6. Michael Smith led the Knights by scoring a 48-yard touchdown run. He also had six carries for 53 rushing yards. Chase Robbins recorded two carries for 12 yards and Cooper Crittenden had four carries for seven yards. Kaleb McArthur led the defense with three tackles and two tackles for loss. Carter Wilson caused a fumble, which was recovered by Alexander Elias.

The 8U Knights fell to the Broncos, 2-0. Carson Robbins, Sam Wallis, Keegan Stokes and Gabriel Rodriguez led the Knights. For cheer, Haley Donnell was named most spirited and Nevaeh Garner had the best technique.

Flag football

The Lady Knights 14U flag football team tied, 6-6, with the Penn Panthers. The 10U Lady Knights had a scoreless game with the Panthers.
