The Gloucester Youth Football and Cheer League Knights spent the weekend playing different teams throughout the region.
The 8U Knights defeated the Hampton Ramblers, 6-0. Michael Smith scored the only touchdown. Sir Young and Michael Blasing recorded seven tackles each. The Knights travel to Portsmouth Saturday to play Aberdeen.
The 10U Knights fell to Ramblers, 28-0. Cheerleaders who received recognition during the match were Aniyah Cook and Maddison Burton.
The 12U Knights also suffered a loss Saturday, falling to the Virginia Noles, 20-0. The offense was led By Delonta Ball Jr. who had three carries for 15 yards. Demond Hopkins had one reception for 15 yards, Xavier Broughman had five carries for 20 yards and Hunter Banks had one reception for four yards. On defense, Broughman and Jay Stokes each had five tackles, followed by Ball and Hopkins with three each and Mary Green and Gabe Geach with two each.
