The Gloucester Youth Football and Cheer League Knights played the Virginia Eagles over the weekend. The 6U Knights fell to the Eagles, 41-0. Notable players were Hezekiah Fauntleroy Jr. and George Wilson. The 12U Knights also lost to the Eagles, 32-0. Carnell Banks carried for 14 yards, while Evan Horecek carried for 20 yards and also recorded a reception. Welsey Gee had multiple tackles and three sacks, while Zayden Pluim recorded one interception. The 10U Lady Knights flag football team also came up short to the Eagles, falling 26-6. Genesis Pluim scored the team’s sole touchdown. Willow Harris, Ella Huggins and Adelynn Powell all gained yardage throughout the game. Taylor Cook, Pluim, Huggins, Shonna Banks and Paisley Robbins all recorded flag pulls. For cheer, Elowen VanAllen had the best technique and Harper Toomey was named the most spirited....
