The Gloucester Youth Football and Cheer League Knights had a full lineup of games over the weekend.
The 12U Knights defeated the Tidewater Dawgs, 27-6. Anthony Hodges recorded two touchdowns, a kick return and 130 yards. Rylee Hogge scored two touchdowns and two extra points with 90 yards. J.J. Koch also scored a touchdown. Leo Collier recorded 20 rushing yards, Isaac White had six rushing yards and Jay Stokes had three rushing yards. Standouts on defense were Noah Sterling, Grayson Santana, Collier, Rosalie Thomas, Anthony Hodges and Zayden Pluim.
The 10U Knights lost to the Tri-Citi Hurricanes, 34-0. Chase Robbins led the offense with four carries for 44 yards, followed by Cooper Crittenden with two carries for four yards. On defense, Robbins led the charged with four tackles, followed by Kaleb McArthur with two and Easton Rassmussen with one. Harper Arntz was named most spirited for cheer, while Aniyah Cook had the best technique.
The 6U Knights fell to the Hurricanes, 20-0. The 8U team also fell to the Hurricanes, 28-0. Notable players for the Knights were Tristan Riley, Carson Robbins and Keegan Stokes. Haley Donnell was named most spirited for cheer and Nevaeh Garner had the best technique.
Flag football
The 10U Lady Knights flag football team fell to the Panthers, 26-20. Genesis Pluim scored all three touchdowns for the Lady Knights and Ellia Hudgins added two extra points. Taylor Cook recorded a quarterback sack. Paisley Robbins led the team in flag pulls, followed by Alanna Hudgins and Pluim.
