Kiwanis Club seeks new members

The Kiwanis Club of Gloucester is seeking new members to help with its numerous volunteer causes in the community.
“I wanted to make a difference with youth in the community,” said new club vice president James Luck who commented on why he joined.
Luck is the unit director for the Gloucester Unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula, which is located in the Hayes Shopping Center. The Kiwanis Club sponsors the Youth of the Month Award at the Boys & Girls Club, which honors a club member each month who has demonstrated leadership skills, academic achievement, a positive attitude, personal growth and commitment to their community.
“We’ve been partnered with them for 11 years,” said Kiwanis Club interim president David James about the Boys & Girls Club.
In addition to the Youth of the Month Award, the Kiwanis Club helps with the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office Shop with a Cop program, the Gloucester High School Key Club and the annual Kids Fishing Clinic at Bu...
