Kingston church organs to be celebrated in virtual concert

While the current pandemic has turned life topsy-turvy and closed Kingston Episcopal Parish’s two worship spaces in Mathews for nine months and counting, the church has seen a silver lining.

A year ago at this time the church was facing a failing electronic organ in its Christ Church on Williams Wharf Road and discussing how to enhance the worship experience at its Kingston Chapel (which had an electronic keyboard and a piano) located in the Parish House on Main Street, a release stated.

In the intervening time not one but two organs were acquired and are now enriching the parish’s online worship services and virtual choir.

To celebrate these extraordinary instruments over this holiday season, the parish will be offering its traditional Christmas Carol Sing as an expanded virtual Christmas Eve Concert of sacred music via YouTube, in addition to its online service.
