Kingsmill Resort to host ‘Fun on the Fairway’

The second annual Run the Fairway Festival has expanded to become “Fun on the Fairway” and will take place on Saturday at the Kingsmill Resort, Williamsburg.

The overall event will focus on ways to maintain the best looking, environmentally friendly, lawn and landscape possible. A special addition to the demonstration lineup includes the Brentsville District High School agriculture teacher Andrew Miller and his turf students.

Miller and his students will discuss their award-winning turfgrass program, detailing how their program includes science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and encourages school and community spirit. Their demonstrations will include how to paint the golf and sports turf logos on the fairway grass. The students are creating 20’x20’ logos for both Jamestown High School and the Kingsmill Resort, much like the MLB and NFL use for their fields.
