King of Commonwealth race to be held next spring

Virginia Motor Speedway officials have announced that this coming weekend’s Virginia Is For Racing Lovers King of the Commonwealth, sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series and FASTRAK Racing, has been rescheduled to the spring of 2021.

With restrictions on mass gatherings issued by the state remaining in effect, the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic continues to place Middlesex County track’s 51st season on hold.

“This decision comes per CDC guidelines, and the State of Virginia banning events of 10 or more people,” said track owner Bill Sawyer. “We are extremely disappointed that we will not be able to host one of the track’s marquee events and region’s top dirt late model events again this year.”

Officials of Virginia Motor Speedway will continue to closely monitor the situation in coordination with federal, state, local, and public health officials, along with information based on guidelines from the CDC to determine when it will be safe to reopen. The health and safe...
