KEVIN ARTHUR KIERSTEAD

Kevin Arthur Kierstead, a beloved son and brother, was born June 23, 1972, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Lowell Kierstead and Betty Gayle Kierstead, and passed away April 13, 2016.

He resided at 1058 Circle Drive, Susan, Va., with his mother, Betty Gayle Sine, and his stepfather, Harry (Tony) Sine.

He was a 1990 graduate of Mathews High School, and served in the United States Air Force from 1990-1994. He studied English and psychology at Christopher Newport University. He authored and published four fiction novels. Since June 2013, he hosted a podcast entitled Truth on Tap, in which he discussed a variety of cultural issues, media, and politics. He was a devoted Washington Capitals fan. 

He is survived by his daughter, Marlowe Jan Kierstead; his stepfather, Harry (Tony) Sine; his four sisters, Lisa Hice, Lori Mattis, Kathleen Taylor, and Kelley Kennedy; four nieces, and five nephews.

A visitation was held at 1 p.m. and memorial service was held at 2 o’clock April 17 at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, 160 Main Street, Mathews, Va. Entombment was with his mother at Windsor Gardens in Dutton, Va.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad in his name.
