KENNETH HUGH JORDAN JR.

Kenneth Hugh Jordan, Jr. of Mathews, Va., passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, Va.

Hugh was a graduate of Mathews High School, and a member of the Honor Guard in the American Legion. He served in the United States Air Force, as E6 TSgt., from Feb. 2, 1953 to March 3, 1973. Hugh served as Mathews County Sheriff from Jan. 1, 1980 to Dec. 31, 1999. He also served as a part-time postal employee from November, 1973 to December, 1979. He was a proud American who loved serving his country and Mathews County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth H. Jordan Sr. and Mary Flavia Aldrich.

He is survived by his wife, Lili M. Jordan; a daughter, Wendy Harris (Trey); a son, Jimbo Croxton (Kim); grandchildren, Tiffany, Jordan, Ethan, and Kendra; two sisters, Selma Thomas and Barbara Smith, and two brothers, Ralph and Earl Jordan.

The family received friends on Monday, March 9, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with entombment in Windsor Garden Mausoleum, Dutton, Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Hugh’s honor to the American Legion Post 83, P.O. Box 561, Mathews, Va. 23109.
