Kenneth H. Wilson Sr., 80, of Gloucester, died at his home surrounded by his family on March 27, 2013.

He was born in Tazewell, Va., to the late Charles P. and Bertha C. Wilson. Kenneth was one of the founding members of the Gloucester Church of Christ, having been a member since 1977. He was a very caring, kind, generous and compassionate man. His only goal in life was to love his Lord and his family. He will be missed by so many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth H. Wilson Jr.; daughter-in-law, Susan Wilson, and his six siblings, James E. Wilson, Garland E. Wilson, Troy A. Wilson, Mary M. McCloud, Walter R. Wilson, and Frances E. Wilson.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carrie S. Wilson; daughters, Sharon Bartley (Thomas) and Tammy Prosek (Jerry); son, James M. Wilson; daughter-in-law, Ellen Williams; grandchildren, Carrie Wilson (Mike), Courtney Callis (JR), Catelyn Penick (Gordon), Cassie Wolfe (Shawn), Maggie Bartley (Jeffrey), Lauren Hall (Jason), Brian Jones Jr. (Ericka), Cindy Thompson (Murray) and Gary Cooksey (Karen); great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Dylan, Makenzie, Ellyana, Colby, Colter, Callie, Chessie, Cade, Anthony, Gavin and Brett.

Funeral services conducted by Pastor Robbie Brunjes were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Gloucester Church of Christ, 2432 Hayes Road. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Friday, March 29, 2013, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
