KENNETH CHARLES BREAUD SR.

Kenneth Charles Breaud Sr. of Lanexa, Va., age 73, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at his home after a short battle with cancer.

He was born in California, and was the son of the late Whitney and Jane Breaud. Prior to his illness, he was employed in security at Camp Peary, Williamsburg, Va. He retired from the Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, Va., and also served in the U.S. Navy for 14 years.

He loved the outdoors and to travel, the mountains were his favorite place to visit. He was a very hard worker and loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Paula Breaud; daughter, Beverly B. Robins and her husband Martin of Gloucester; two grandchildren, Whitney and Conner; his son, Kenneth (Kenny) Breaud Jr. and his wife Lisa, one grandson, Justin; his daughter, Teresa Brown and her husband Michael; one grandson, Dylan, and the mother of his children, Nannie L. Breaud, all of Gloucester; his step-children, Mike Michonski Sr. (Tracy), Bernard Michonski (Teresa), Jimmy Michonski (Tammy), Judy Biers (Tom), and Jean Michonski; a host of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his faithful companions, Heidi and Shelly, who never left his side.

In his honor, a celebration of his life will be held at the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Department, Station 5, Providence Road, on Nov. 18, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. Upon his final request, a burial at sea will be performed by the U.S. Navy.
