Kenneth Cecil Hunter, 73, of Hayes, died Nov. 11, 2017.
Kenneth was born in New York, served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Army as CW3. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
After the Army he worked as a Navigation Instructor at Fort Eustis. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the military never left him.
Kenneth was a coin collector, enjoyed writing poetry, traveling and working in the garden. He will be truly missed.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Joan Hunter; stepson, Aaron Ashley; sister, Helen Wells (Henry), and a host of friends.
Memorial service conducted by the Rev. Arthur Wolz Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 10-11 at the funeral home.
