Kenneth Anthony Roberts, 77, of Gloucester, passed away at his home on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013.
He was born in Baltimore, Md., to the late Frank and Helen Roberts and retired as a Colonel from the U.S. Air Force after serving his country for 27 years.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, he taught for 10 years at Menchville High School. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Gloucester where he sang in the Men’s Group Choir. He also sang in the Chesapeake Choral and with his wife in the Clipper Choir of Patterson High School.
Ken along with his wife were Book Buddies at Botetourt Elementary School. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, Kenny and Anthony.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lila Roberts; his daughters, Linda Roberts serving with the Diplomatic Service in Vienna, Austria; Diane R. Floria and her husband Bill of Jefferson, Md., and Carole Brosnan of Gloucester; his grandsons, Kenny, Anthony, Patrick, and Justin.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church.
