The Mathews County Democrats awarded three scholarships this year to Mathews High School graduates, with Suki Zheng awarded $1,000, and Vic DeForge and Shay Conrow each getting $500. The Betty and Jim Kenley Scholarship is named in honor of two longtime leaders of the Mathews Democrats who passed away in 2022 and 2024, respectively.
