Kelly spreads her cooking love to appreciative group

“Cooking is my therapy,” said Charlotte Kelly, Dining Room Service Director at the Gloucester House in near Gloucester Court House. “I love to cook.” Charlotte has been with the assisted living establishment for six years, making sure three meals per day are available for its 75-80 residents. With the help of one full-time and one part-time cook and six servers, breakfast is served at 8 a.m., lunch at noon and dinner from 4-4:30 p.m. All menus are planned on a six-month schedule with approval from the dietitian. Menus change each day. “I love to get residents’ feed-back. If there is a request for something special, we try to accommodate it. I think to make our residents feel at home (after all it is their home) is very important. We call it fine dining.
