The Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament released its first report of 2021 last Wednesday, April 21, listing six pages of citation catches including a number of speckled trout.
Among speckled trout citations were two for fishermen casting lures on Feb. 11 in the Piankatank River: Bryan Kellum of Gloucester, caught a five-pound fish, and Robert J. Matney, also of Gloucester, hooked a five-pound, three-ounce fish.From now through the end of the year, the tournament will release weekly updates of citations on vasaltwaterjournal.com.
