Kathleen H. Greene, age 78, of Gloucester, died on Monday, August 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on March 4, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina, to the late William and Isabel Harleston. Kathleen was a proud graduate of the College of Charleston as well as the University of Virginia. She was a faithful member of Bethany United Methodist Church, as well as a member of the Augustine Warner chapter of the DAR. Kathleen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, James “Jimmy” Greene. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Bjers (John); grandson, James “Jamie” Richardson; granddaughter, Kathryn “Ryn” Bjers, and by her siblings, Rita Curtis (Cres), Eleanor Harleston, William Harleston (Coral), and John Harleston (Kathleen). The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 6-7 p.m. The funeral service, conducted by Pastor John Choi, will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In memory of Kathleen, contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at Grand Central Station, P.O.
