KATHLEEN B. WILLIAMS

Kathleen B. Williams, born and raised in Mathews, 91, of West Orange, N.J., joined her husband, John H. Williams, into eternal life on July 31, 2013.

Friends called at the Prout Funeral Home, (www.proutfuneralhome.com), 370 Bloomfield Ave., Verona, N.J., on Friday, Aug. 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life was conducted at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 271 Roseland Ave., Essex Fells, N.J., on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 10:30 a.m. Interment was private.

“Keen,” as she was known, lived in West Orange for over 50 years. She and her husband owned Keen’s Tennis and Sportswear in West Orange. Keen retired 10 years ago and continued to enjoy her many friendships with customers who became friends.

Throughout her life, Keen enjoyed attending reunions of the Brewington family and in retirement her trips to Atlantic City. She always found a way to have an influence on her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Keen is survived by her daughter, Carol A. Koenigsfest; her son, John H. Williams Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Williams, and her grandchildren, Eddie and Heather Koenigsfest, and Bryan and Kirsten Williams. She is also survived by her sisters, Janice Miller and Norma Surwila; her brother, John Brewington, and 20 beloved nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, John; her son, Bruce; her brothers, Paul and Randolph, and her sister, Phyllis.
