Katherine Miller Hendrick of Mathews, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017.

She was born Aug. 26, 1933 in Mathews, the daughter of the late Thomas B. Miller Jr. and Mary Davis Miller. 

She graduated from Hampton High School and attended Longwood College and Auburn University.

She retired from employment with the County of Mathews as County Accountant in 1998.

She was a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, Mathews Maritime Foundation, Mathews County Historical Society, Gloucester Genealogical Society and Virginia Genealogical Society.

She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas J. Hendrick, and is survived by a daughter, Katherine Hendrick Rice, and three grandchildren.

Services are private.

It was her wish that in lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to remember her make a donation to one of the local volunteer organizations such as Mathews County Volunteer Fire Department, Rescue Squad or Hands Across Mathews.
