KATHERINE M. MARSHALL

Katherine M. “Kathé” Marshall of Mathews, Va., died on March 18, 2013 when her spirit flew to the stars to shine upon all who shared her full life with love.

She was the widow of Raymond J. Montigny.

Kathé was born in New London, Conn., on Jan. 18, 1944 to the late James C. and Mary V. Lyons. She graduated from St. Bernard’s High School, New London, in 1962. She was a WAC in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received the National Defense Service Medal. For many years she worked for the telephone company as switchboard operator, lineman and a frame operator.

She enjoyed writing poetry and sharing poetry with her friends. Kathé loved working in the church, Kingston Parish, and visiting at the convalescent centers.

Memorial services conducted by the Rev. Gary J. Barker were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Inurnment will be at a later date in Connecticut. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
