Kate Elizabeth Spencer Berry was born on November 2, 1938, in Gloucester, to the late Maude Banks Spencer and Philip Spencer. She departed this life on Friday, September 12, 2025.

She is survived by her husband, William H. Berry; two daughters, Denise Berry of Gloucester, and Renee Carter (Brenner) of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Miranda Beverley of Cary, North Carolina, Christopher Carter of Fairfax, and Marcus Carter (Kylie) of Midlothian; two great-grandsons, Kayden and Lawton Carter of Midlothian, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The viewing will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2025, at J.K. Redmond Funeral Home, Shacklefords. The funeral service will be 12 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Historic Zion Poplars Baptist Church, Gloucester. Interment in Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton.
