Mathews artist Karen Pitt-man is the September Artist of the Month at the Bay School Community Arts Center on Main Street in Mathews.

Pittman’s collection includes both oil and watercolor paintings in all different sizes, many of which capture the beauty of local areas, said a press release. The exhibit can be viewed online and in person at the gallery. Her work will be on display through Sept. 30.

Using color, light and texture to share the beauty of the world is Pittman’s passion, said the release. Through different mediums and teachings, she has gained a diversified perspective on painting. Most of her work involves landscapes and seascapes because “she feels she has an ongoing love affair with the sea and sky,” said the release.
