JV Lady Dukes wrap up season of shutout wins

The Gloucester High School junior varsity field hockey team wrapped up a record-setting year with a 15-0 win over visiting Warwick on Tuesday, completing a season of 13 consecutive shutouts.

The win was the team’s sixth victory by 10 goals or more. The Dukes not only never allowed a goal this season but did not even allow a shot at their cage either, a tremendous feat by the defense. 

The Gloucester juniors’ diamond defense was anchored by Alexis Adams, Kailee Morris, Jordan Scott and Meadow Spears while goalkeeper Kareena Ferguson was instrumental in the protection of their defensive circle.

Offensively, the Dukes spread the ball around and allowed multiple players to score. Against Warwick, they got two goals each from Christina Riva, Alanna Womack, Mackenzie Wheeler, Adams and Spears. Also scoring were Chandler Johnson, Lily Perger, Ella Poulson, Ainslee Brown and Morris.
