JV Lady Dukes outscore 2019 opponents, 125-0

The Gloucester High School junior varsity field hockey team closed out a perfect 16-0 season with a 6-0 mercy rule win over visiting Hanover High School last Thursday. 

This marks the junior Dukes’ fifth consecutive year without a loss and the continuation of a 77-game winning streak. The Gloucester girls scored 125 goals this season while not giving up any.

Avery Watkins led the offensive charge last Thursday with three goals. Abygail Clayton scored to bring her team-leading goal total to 20 on the season and Alexis Cruz and Rilee Walker each added a goal. 

Bayleigh Andersen had two scoring assists in the win, bringing her team-leading assists total to 30 for the season. Alanna Womack also had two assists and assists came from Kiley Parker, Lily Perger and Walker. 

Overall, the Gloucester juniors took 594 shots on goal this season while only allowing seven. They also earned 245 penalty corners while only giving up eight.
