JV Lady Dukes one step away from another perfect season

Gloucester High School junior varsity field hockey players moved to 15-0 with an 8-0 win at Warwick on Tuesday, bringing them one step closer to a perfect season. The junior Dukes are scheduled to play their last game of the season against Hanover at 5:30 today at GHS.

Abygail Clayton, Lily Perger and Ainslee Brown had two goals each against Warwick, with Clayton extending her team-leading goal total to 19. Avery Watkins and Mason Welsh chipped in one goal each.

Bayleigh Andersen added an assist to bring her team-leading total to 28. Mackenzie Wheeler had three assists and Rilee Walker and Kamryn McDonough each added two. Assists also came from Watkins, Alana Womack, Chrissy Masiak, Abby Brown, Ainslee Brown, Perger and Watkins. 

Gloucester posted a 17-0 dominating win over Henrico High School on Monday. Emma Kadel, Mason Welsh and Abby Brown struck for their first goals of the season. Clayton was the only Duke to score two goals, leaving plenty of room for 16 of her teammates ...
