JV Lady Dukes improve to 11-0

The Gloucester High School junior varsity improved to 11-0 on the season and its non-losing streak increased to 71 games, with shutout victories this past week over Lafayette, Atlee and Menchville. The team has won all its games this season by shutout.

The last time the JV Lady Dukes suffered a loss was in the final game of the 2014 season against Menchville, according to head coach Joe Dougherty.

Menchville

Gloucester defeated Menchville for the second time this season Tuesday, beating the Monarchs, 3-0. The game was dominated by play on the field by the Dukes but the Monarchs’ defense did not budge in the first half.

Even with the Dukes putting 17 shots on goal, the game was scoreless at the half. After a few adjustments, the Dukes cracked the game open with a successful penalty stroke by MacKenzie Wheeler. Moments later, 

Kamryn McDonough added an insurance goal with a very impressive reverse chip shot that crashed the boards.
