JV Lady Devils crush Panthers

The Mathews High School junior varsity girls’ basketball team defeated King and Queen Friday, 38-9. The Lady Devils scored 27 points right out of the gates, mostly shots from both inside and outside the paint.

The second half wasn’t much different, as Mathews added 11 points. Most of the Lady Devils slammed some points on the board this game.

Jade Davis and Connie Johnson led with eight, followed by Skyller Worley with seven, Stacie Thomas with five, Kelsey and Sierra Davis each with a three-pointer, and Alex Mills and Chesapeake West each with two points.

The JV girls travel to King William this Friday for a 5:30 p.m. contest. ...
