JV girls improve to 12-0

The Gloucester High School junior varsity field hockey team moved to 12-0 Monday with a 6-0 mercy rule win over visiting Jamestown. 

Avery Watkins scored twice and Kamryn McDonough scored to add a goal to her team-leading points total to 35. Abygail Clayton scored to add a goal to her team-leading 14-goal total and Chrissy Masiak and Kiley Parker chipped in goals to close out scoring. 

Bayleigh Andersen increased her assist total with two to move to 21 assists on the year. Alexis Cruz added two assists and one assist each was credited to Emma Kadel, Rilee Walker, McDonough, Clayton and Masiak. The Dukes out shot the Eagles 31-0 and earned 22 penalty corners.

Next week, the junior Dukes play at Henrico on Monday and at Warwick on Tuesday before closing the season with a host of Hanover on Oct. 21.  ...
