JV Dukes on two-game win streak

After a 0-1 start, the Gloucester High School junior varsity football team has added two wins to its 2017 record. The jayvees beat Heritage, 22-20, on Sept. 11 and shut out Kecoughtan, 14-0, on Monday. 

The junior Dukes bested the Hurricanes in final minutes last week after the game was tied up, 20-20. Sean Atwood and Thomas Conroy combined on a quarterback sack in the final play of the game that scored a safety and gave Gloucester the win. 

Working up to the tie, the Dukes had touchdowns scored by Malakyi Cooke, Destin Forrest and Conroy, who also scored a two-point conversion following his TD. 

The GHS jayvee coaches additionally cited the defensive play of Dylan Richards as valuable in the win.  ...
