A funeral for June Maddox Hicks, 87, of Gloucester and formerly of Lynchburg, was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Whitten Monelison Chapel, Madison Heights. She died Oct. 19, 2018. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Calvin Hicks Sr.; parents, Warren Lester Maddox and Virginia Moore Maddox, and two sisters.

Mrs. Hicks retired from J.C. Penney, and was a member of Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church, Lynchburg. 

Survivors include her children, Margaret Coffey, Wanda Smith, Mary Johnson, and Robert Hicks Jr.; 13 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. 

Interment followed at Hicks Family Cemetery in Monroe.
