June 11 concert to celebrate Kingston’s new organs

Kingston Episcopal Parish, Mathews, will dedicate both of its newly installed organs in a concert on Saturday, June 11.

Carina Sturdy Brackin will be the performing artist. The concert will begin at 4 p.m. at the historic Christ Church, 320 Williams Wharf Road, and will continue after intermission at Kingston Chapel, 370 Main Street. A reception will be held following the concert.

Brackin, Associate Director of Music at St. Bede’s Church in Williamsburg, has performed at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, Florida, and Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg and has served as Organ Scholar for Bruton Parish Church. The concert will include a range of works from Baroque to contemporary by Johann Sebastian Bach, Naji Hakim, Théodore Dubois, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Henri Mulet and others.
