July 4th ball game was a success

The base ball game near Soles on the 4th of July was quite a success. The Blakes Town club came up and played with the Morgans Branch Athletic Club and was very badly beaten. Come again, boys, but don’t let them get the best of you next time.

Little Helen and Mollie Gray visited friends Nellie Lewis and Esther Fitchett last week.

Misses Sophia Soles and Carrie Fitchett spent Sunday with their cousin, Mrs. James Nuttall, in Ware Neck.

The 4th just passed brought both joy and sorrow to the renowned clan known as the Mathews “Lobsters.”

The joy emulated from a base ball engagement in which the “Lobsters” defeated the Mobjack boys to the tune of 9 to 5. It was a fast and pretty game. Batteries: Treakle and Treakle, Hopkins and White.
