Julian Henry Harris Sr. passed away on Friday, May 16. 2025, at the age of 87 at Walter Reed Convalescent Center. Julian was born in Charles City, Va., on March 16, 1938 to the late Julian and Marlene Harris. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961 and proudly served in the military until his retirement in 1981. He was briefly employed at Gloucester County Public Schools Transportation Dept. before being employed at Naval Weapons Station in the Ordinance Dept. for 14 years. He enjoyed flying model airplanes, riding his motorcycle, and doing auto mechanics’ work.
Julian was preceded in death by his wife Carris of 42 years; his parents, and three siblings. He is survived by his son, Julian Henry Harris Jr.; two stepdaughters whom he loved as his daughters, Rene (Stephen) Morgan and Lisa Summers; stepson, Burnett Summers (Marcia); two grandsons, Stephen (Chelsea) Morgan and Christopher (Kelsey) Morgan; granddaughter, Elyse Summers; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, especially his nephew, Carey Mitchell.
Funeral services will be private.
