Julia R. Jones, 73, of Gloucester, beloved wife, wonderful mother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017. 

Her memory will be cherished by all. She was born March 12, 1944 in Marion, North Carolina. Julia moved to the Hampton Roads area after her marriage to William. She spent her entire career caring for, teaching and spreading her love to every child she met. 

Julia was preceded in death, by a mere 16 days, by her devoted and loving husband of 55 years, William Jones.

She is survived by two sons, Stephen Jones of Gloucester, and Keith Jones and his wife Nicole of Orlando, Florida; her grandchildren, Zach Jones, Shelby Jones, Madalyn Jones and Jamison Jones; her sister, Betty Moody and her husband Dean of Nebo, North Carolina.

Julia and William’s life will be celebrated by family and friends on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please provide donations to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association on behalf of Mr. and Mrs. William Jones.
