Annual unveiling festivities for the 31st Guinea Jubilee will take place Sunday, beginning at 2 p.m., at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, Bena.

Elliott Hogge, chairman of the Guinea Jubilee, said the afternoon will include the announcement and introduction of the 2010 art contest winners and the parade grand marshal, and the formal introduction of Shelby Cameron, the 2010 Guinea Jubilee Scholarship winner.

Hogge said various heritage items will be on display including a seine mending demonstration and many photographs of Guinea in its bygone days. Guinea Jubilee prints, T-shirts and collectibles will also be available at the unveiling.

"Everyone is invited to come on down for a lively afternoon to participate in the auction of the number-one print, to socialize and to share refreshments with your Guinea neighbors," Hogge said. Refreshments will be available.

The unveiling is sponsored by the Naval Weapons Station Federal Credit Union.
