Hannah Joyce wore her Gloucester High School uniform for the last time on July 12 as she competed for the East team in the Virginia High School Coaches Association’s softball all-star game in Newport News.
Joyce had two hits, scored a run and recorded a put out in the East’s 6-0 win over the west. She was the only player in the game to record multiple hits, with a bunt single in the seventh inning and a single up the middle in the ninth.
Joyce played four years of field hockey and softball at GHS, and spent a year on the basketball and gymnastics squads. She will be playing softball for Chowan University this fall.
