Joyce Anne Galewater, age 78, of Hayes, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2017. Joyce took great joy in her family and friends, gardening, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Conrad Galewater; father, Ospert Ennis; mother, Annie Lee Thornton; sister, Helen Gray Ennis, and niece, Kathy Ennis.

She is survived by her sons, Steve and Ray Galewater; brother, Billy Ray Ennis; sister-in-law, Pat Ennis; aunt, Alene Phipps; granddaughter and husband, Monica and Aaron Harris, and great-granddaughters, Madison and Victoria.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Dr. Richard Croxton was held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will be later in Arlington National Cemetery.
