JOSEPHINE POLLOCK

Josephine M. Pollock "JoJo," 90, of Gloucester, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012.

Born in Boston, Mass., she was a resident of Hampton Roads for 82 years.

JoJo worked at NASA Langley at the beginning of the space program typing technical reports and was a secretary for many years at Berdensey Realty.

JoJo was an active member most of her life of Hilton Presbyterian Church, especially working with the youth group and church choir; she was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi, as well as a past member and secretary of American Legion Post.

JoJo was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lloyd and Florence Alene Burford; brothers, Anthony Maraki and James Leon Maraki.

JoJo is survived by her daughter, Margaret Rash and husband Jimmy; son, Robert "Bob" Pollock and wife Irene; grandchildren, Beth Slate and husband Jamie, Christine Smith and husband William, Melissa Pollock, Cort Rash and wife Dawn, and Adam Rash and wife Amber. JoJo was blessed with 10 great-grandchildren.

 A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Peninsula Memorial Park, with George Insley officiating.

 Arrangements were in the care of Peninsula Funeral Home.
