Joseph Winder Gayle, 79, of Cobbs Creek, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 14, 2018. He was surrounded by those he loved.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Lucille 

Gayle, and his brother, John W. Gayle Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Mary C. Gayle; his son, Joseph L. Gayle (Lisa); granddaughter, Ashley Stuhr (John); great-grandchildren, Abigayle and Atticus Stuhr; granddaughter, Amanda Kerins (J.P.); his daughter, Hope Gayle Maner (Kevin); granddaughter, Lyndsay Gholson (Griff); great-granddaughter, Cameron Gholson, and granddaughter, Logan West. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Rosie Gayle, and sister-in-law, Bren Kemp (Guy.)

He was a retired brick mason, and he was retired from Anheuser-Busch, Inc. He was a member of Mathews Chapel United Methodist Church.

Services will be private, with the family receiving friends at home.
