Joseph Preston “Butch” Lassiter, 64, of Hartfield, Virginia, died peacefully October 29, 2016, at his home with his wife Donna by his side and family present. 

Joe was owner of Colony Electric, Inc., Gloucester. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, kayaking and working out at the Wellness Center. Joe loved to joke and laugh, and is known for his positive outlook on life and his sense of humor. He loved his family and to him family was not only important, family was everything.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Emily Lassiter.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Hughes Lassiter; sons, Aaron Lassiter, Justin Lassiter and his wife Amy; granddaughters, Samantha, Anna, Abby and Brooke; sisters, Emily McAllister (Mark), and Sharon Finn (Steve); brother, Vince Lassiter (Judy), and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point, on Saturday, November 5, 2016, from 12-1:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1:30 conducted by the Rev. Arthur Wolz Jr. Inurnment will be private.
