JONATHAN HENRY JOYCE

Jonathan Henry Joyce, 52, of Gloucester, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014.

He was born in Roanoke, Va., and was the son of the late Julian Edward and Charley Arland Smith Joyce. He was a graduate of the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School and had earned his bachelor’s degree in business.

He was employed as a vacuum tech by Jefferson Lab in Newport News. He was a man of God who loved his family. He was a member of Lighthouse Worship Center and the Christian Motorcycle Association. Because of his love of hunting and fishing, he was an avid member of NRA.

Jon was a loving husband and father, a role model, best friend to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon G. Joyce; a World Class Dad to his sons, Joshua Joyce and his wife Kristina of Fort Sill, Okla., and Justin Joyce and his wife Robin of King George, and his brother, Julian Russell Joyce of Roanoke.

 The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, from 6:30-8 p.m. in Lighthouse Worship Center. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Lighthouse Worship Center, Ordinary, by Pastor Ken Cramer. Burial will be in Bellamy Memorial Cemetery.
