Joint training exercise

Marine Incident Response Team members from Abingdon and Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue squads held a joint training event last Thursday evening in the York River. In the exercise, teams were dispatched to the report of two persons in the water after being thrown from a jet ski. The group responded to the last known location and executed several search patterns. AVFR brought its Boats 2 and 3, GVFRS had its Boat 4. It was a beautiful day on the river and the joint training exercise went well. The scenario was a realistic one, as the departments have responded to a number of similar calls in the past.
