Joint meeting to be held on GHS renovations

A special joint meeting of the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors and Gloucester School Board will be held on Monday, June 24, to discuss funding appropriations for proposed renovations to Gloucester High School.

The meeting will be held in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The county board expressed its intention during a recent meeting in May to continue dialogue with the county’s school board about funding for renovations at GHS.

The school board is requesting close to $20 million more for the project than what the board of supervisors had decided to allocate.

Since that time, the school board held a lengthy discussion on the matter and subsequently drafted a letter to supervisors asking the governing body to reconsider a funding amount for the maintenance/renovations and to consider having an additional joint meeting. ...
