Johnathan Wayne Verner, 32, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015. 

Johnathan was a native of Fountain Valley, Cal., and was a Peninsula resident for the last four years. 

He was employed with Newport News Shipbuilding as a machinist for two years, and was formerly employed with Medlin Ford and had received his Master Technician certification. John was a jack-of-all-trades, and enjoyed wood working and off-road racing. Johnathan was a loving husband, father and son.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Brooke Verner; three daughters, Angelina, Sophia and Lucille (Lucy) Verner of the home; his parents, Karen McDowell and Robert “Pop” Buck, and two grandmothers. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Sue Trejo.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and nurses in the ICU of Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.
