JOHN WILLIAM GREEN

John William “J.W.” Green of Hayes, was called to his heavenly home Dec. 6, 2018. 

J.W. was a lifelong waterman and lived by the true Guinea heritage. J.W. was a master of many trades and willing to help anyone in need at any time.  He loved to watch anything to do with being a fisherman of the sea and going to Marvin Crane’s to trade fishing stories with the guys. J.W. will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Green; father, John M. Green Jr. and sisters, Deborah Lynn Green and Edith Teresa Canuel.

He is survived by his soul mate and companion of 16 years, Jordan Brooks; his children, Nicholas, Frank, Lisa Marie, John Colie, Tiffany, Sarah and Matthew Green; mother, Shelby Green (Benny); grandchildren, Nevaeh, Paisley, Lillian, Trystan and Xaiver; sister, Sophia Green; brother, Michael A. Green; special niece, Jennifer Green, and a host of other relatives.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at Union Baptist Church. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
