JOHN PARKER WILBERN JR.

John Parker Wilbern Jr., 72, a resident of Piedmont Geriatric Hospital in Burkeville, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2018. His was a lifelong struggle with mental illness.

Parker was born in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, to the late John P. Wilbern, USMC-ret., and Jeanne T. Wilbern.

He was also predeceased by a sister, Laurie A. Wilbern. He is survived by his sister and her spouse, Sue Wilbern Keys and Michael R. Keys of Hallieford.

Inspite of it all, Parker earned a B.S. in economics from Strayer University.

The family is indebted to the wonderful staff at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital for their kindness and care; also, to The Catholic Charities, Inc., and staff at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Washington, D.C.
