JOHN MATTHEW HALL

John Matthew Hall, 48, of Prince George, Maryland/Gloucester, who was totally blind, mute, and mentally challenged, passed away on Dec. 31, 2016, after a long battle with pulmonary hypertension.

He graduated from the Maryland School for the Blind in 1990. John lived with his parents in Maryland where since 1990, he had worked in a sheltered workshop and in 2007, moved into a residential home managed by the Arc of Prince George’s County, who also managed his workplace.

John loved visiting frequently for long weekends at his parents’ home in Virginia and spending time swinging, taking long walks, swimming and listening to music, especially the Bee Gees. He was always encouraged by family and friends to “Be all he could be” and he did it well.

The family would like to thank the Maryland School for the Blind personnel, loving and caring Arc employees, friends and doctors who helped John be all he could be for much longer than was estimated at the time of his diagnosis.
