John M. Robbins “Peanut,” longtime Onemo resident and friend to all, departed this life to spend Eternity with his wife and love of his life, Bennie Robbins, on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

John M. was born on Jan. 25, 1931 to Tennessee and Mary Jane Robbins in Robbins Chapel, Virginia. He moved to the Peninsula in 1950 to attend the Shipyard Apprentice School. It is during this time he met and fell in love with Bennie Sumners and they were wed on Dec. 24, 1953.

John M. leaves behind to cherish his memory their children, Kenneth Robbins (Melinda), Johnny Robbins, Ricky Robbins and Sharon Robbins; grandchildren, Kacey Robbins, Kaylyn Robbins, Brandon Robbins, Michael Rainey and Kaitlyn Rainey, and a host of very dear family and friends.

Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017, and followed by a memorial service at 6 o’clock at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews.
