John Edward “Eddie” Hogge, 61, of Hayes, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

He was born in Newport News, and was employed at Newport News Shipbuilding for 43 years where he was the Craft instructor for the Apprentice School. He was a former member of the Antique Automobile Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Harold Hogge Sr. and Elsie Nichols Hogge, and is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Hogge; his children, Sarah Bean and her husband Raymond, and Kenny Hogge and his wife Ana; a brother, Kenneth Harold Hogge Jr., and his grandchildren, Addison and Skylar.

The family received friends at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester, on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, from 2-3 p.m., with funeral services starting at 3 o’clock by the Rev. Dr. Chester Brown.
